Terms of service

These Terms of Service govern your participation at Helgate Pottery. Please read them carefully. By signing up and paying for our services, you agree to comply with these terms.

 

General Terms

  1. Acceptance of Terms: By attending our studio, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not attend. We may update these terms at any time, and will notify you of changes via email or a notice at the studio. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of those changes. Always review the most current version by clicking the "Terms of Service" link at the bottom of our website.
  2. Modification of Terms: We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any given time. Changes will be communicated via email and/or posted at the studio.
  3. Studio Terms of Use: Participants in all activities must adhere to our ‘Terms of Use’. Failure to comply may result in refusal of entry, cancellation of bookings or membership, and a refund for lost time as applicable.

 

Classes and Events

  1. Booking and Payment: By attending a class or event, you agree to pay the stipulated fee upon booking your place.
  2. Cancellation by Participant: Cancellations are accepted up to two weeks before the start date for a full refund. No refunds for cancellations made after this period.
  3. Cancellation by Studio: We reserve the right to cancel classes/events at any time. If cancelled, attempts to reschedule will be made. If rescheduling is not possible, a full refund will be issued. If the new schedule is not suitable, you may request a full refund.

 

Membership

  1. Payment and Access: Membership involves regular payments every four weeks. We may adjust this fee with notice, allowing you the choice to cancel or continue at the new rate. Members can access the studio during their designated time slots. Changes to time slots require approval.
  2. Make-up Sessions: If unable to attend, members can make up to four missed sessions, but no more than that, due to capacity limits. Once all missed sessions have been made up you may begin again with a blank slate.
  3. Membership Cancellation: We may cancel memberships due to capacity issues, studio closure, non-payment, or non-compliance with terms. Notice of four weeks will be provided.

 

Studio Membership

  1. Payment and Access: Studio members make payment every four weeks and gain access Monday through Saturday from 9am to 9pm. Members receive a dedicated workspace and key fob in addition to standard ‘Membership’ benefits, however they are no longer entitled to a complimentary use of studio clay.
  2. Non-transferability: Spaces cannot be sublet. Studio membership grants a license, not tenancy.
  3. Cancellation: We reserve the right to cancel with four weeks' notice. A refund for any paid unused time will be issued, barring refusal of entry for non-compliance.

 

Studio Holder

  1. Payment and Access: Studio holders make payment every four weeks for access from Monday through Saturday, 9am to 9pm. Holders receive a dedicated workspace.
  2. Non-transferability: Spaces cannot be sublet, and holders are granted a license, not tenancy.
  3. Cancellation: We may cancel studio holder agreements with four weeks' written notice. Refunds will be provided for any unused prepaid time if access is withdrawn due to non-compliance.

 

Compliance and Conduct

  1. Studio Terms of Use: All participants must adhere to our studio Terms of Use to ensure a safe and respectful environment. Non-compliance may result in denied access or membership cancellation.
  2. Members use the Studio at their own risk. All members must comply with health and safety instructions provided by staff.
  3. We reserve the right to refuse entry or terminate membership for any disruptive or offensive behavior that compromises a safe and respectful environment.
  4. Helgate Pottery is not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings. Members use the facility at their own risk.

 

Pricing Adjustments

  • Helgate Pottery reserves the right to adjust and increase the pricing of any class, event, membership, studio membership, studio holder, or any other form of participation.
  • Any adjustments will be communicated to participants with at least 6 weeks' notice. Participants will be given the opportunity to either cancel their participation or continue at the new adjusted rates.
